![]() I wanted someone in my household to be able to use the VPN on her Windows laptop, so I added a mostly-unused Windows user account to her laptop (named it "Toolbox") which we both have the password for. I have it loaded on my personal Windows laptop and my iPhone. So, here's what I just did in this situation. This is the setup Tutanota has, if memory serves, and I personally think its quite smart! All users within this account would share the same quota. You can specify which user has access to which service(s). ![]() This facilitates separate passwords for each service (is: email, VPN, calendar) by user. Why not allow personal accounts to have multiple users, so they can be utilized by families? Business accounts also often offer numerous features you're paying more for that aren't relevant on a personal level. I also wouldn't want to use a business account, because its just for a family & those accounts also typically have a higher price point. Standard concept for essentially buying in bulk. People looking for all all-in-one account are going to want to save. When you have to buy accounts for each service you typically (I haven't done the math with Proton specifically) pay more in the end. If I have to get multiple accounts to use all the services I want, then maybe Proton loses cutomsers and money since I won't pick them for all services. That defeats the purpose of the all-in-one. And I certainly have no intention of running additional accounts/apps to make Proton workable. I read through the replies and have to say they didn't make sense to me. I may want to protect all devices in my home, but not share my account password with all as it connects to my email. Was thinking about switching all from Tutanota, because I'd like to use all services - but this is a major drawback for me as well. □ Proton News: Features and developments. Here's also a document covering the FAQs about ProtonVPN. ![]() Threats, harassment, racist or sexist speech and slurs of any kind will not be tolerated.Įxceptions include privacy specific laws that can impact Proton’s products or posts on the official blog.
